A very clever website and good writing. As a visual artist painting these themes the last 3 years, it's very nice to have some perspectives confirmed in text. Thank you. Carl Gopal

Ulysses Grant is not the best nom de guerre for a category on American Grand Strategy. The U.S. has had so many other worthy Generals-cum-Presidents: Washington, Jackson, Harrison, Eisenhower. (*Eisenhower!) I believe there were 12 in all. Then there are the several Secretaries of State or lone CIA Director-turned President to choose from. All involved in US Grand Strategy. But you choose Grant, who presided over arguably the most corrupt Presidency in U.S. history? Come on, cut your cousins across The Pond some slack and pick again. To put it in British..."I beseech Thee."

David, Theo

Excellent idea of yours to concentrate effort in one blog; I have enjoyed contributing (in my own special way) to both of your blogs in the past and look forward to doing so in due course.

Thanks. Your efforts in making our subject accessible go beyond mere obligation and adds enduring value for all. I raise my polystyrene tea cup to you both.

I like the blog's title by the way. Clever. However, I can’t help thinking that something like ‘Enthusiastic Observers of…’, or similar, might be more accurate! ;-)

Nick (at the sharp end)

Welcome to the hyperblagz. Found this from MountainRunner. Let's see if this blog can stand up to my own academic program's blog, Hoyapolitik (http://www.hoyapolitik.com/wordpress/). Let the competition commence!
